"Oh, Reverend Shane's preaching to you now, boy."
Blythe is a narcissistic young man with a lust for control and validation from others. While he acts superior and clearly believes himself to be more valuable than most people he comes across, in a way he has a fragile self image in the sense that he relies on glory and validation from others to puff himself up. He tends to create situations, solve them, and take the credit to paint himself as the hero. He absolutely loves attention, but also shows a large amount of interest in others well.
He loves to get a look into people’s minds, and is often very indirect when speaking to people as he believes it lets him see their thought process better. Blythe is very socially assertive, and dislikes it when anyone is the socially dominant one in a conversation besides himself. At times he tends to stand a little to close to people when speaking to them, purposely making them uncomfortable.
While Blythe loves to paint himself as a hero, he’s a very cunning, cruel, and abusive person. He isn’t totally apathetic, though it’s very difficult for him to relate to other people's feelings. He’s very cynical, so it’s hard for him to establish deep emotional connections with people. However, when he does have affection for someone, it can be somewhat obsessive. Blythe is very arrogant, conceited, and competitive, never wanting to pass up an opportunity to prove himself better than another if he can. He's is a massive liar. He tends to lie about every little thing, even if it’s not important simply because he can, and he feels nothing for it.
On the positive side, Blythe is a very strong willed individual, and while he’s often indirect in conversations, he’s very direct when it comes to what he wants for himself and from others. He enjoys creating order, is very charismatic, and is an excellent organizer.
He also feels very vulnerable, but hides it beneath a puffed up ego and an over inflated sense of grandeur. He fears a lack of control and being worthless, and in turn will do everything he can to stay in power and gain validation and praise from those around him. He’s quick to judge others, self destructive, bad at expressing emotion and quite skilled at hiding his darker side.

History:
When Blythe was young, his father allowed his aunt Flora and her husband Raymond to stay in their home when they were going through a rough time financially. This was after his mother had passed away from cancer, so Blythe’s father relied on Flora to be a motherly figure to his children. He was away most of the time, so he never saw how poorly Flora treated Blythe and his younger sister Elliana. She under fed them, usually giving them a cold biscuit or two that was supposed to last them till dinner, and kept the cupboards and fridge bolted shut to keep them away from the food. Occasionally if she thought they were good, she’d pour left over grease from pans onto their biscuit, give them a piece of bologna, or give them a mixture of water, vinegar and sugar for dessert.
She rarely thought they were good.
Their aunt Flora had Blythe and Elliana do most all the chores and run errands, even had them do yard work while they were exhausted and underfed. When they misbehaved she’d hit them, sometimes with her fists, sometimes with chairs, sticks, extension chords—whatever she had nearby. There was a number of other punishments, but it’s not quite necessary to go over them. Blythe usually got most of the beatings, especially since he would fight her with all his might if she ever attempted to hurt his little sister.
He was a little boy then, so there wasn’t much he could do besides turn her wrath on himself. There was a time he was beaten so badly he was sent to the hospital. Their father never believed a word they said and assumed Blythe’s injuries were from scuffles at school. His aunt’s treatment of him and his sister soon turned Blythe into the meanest, angriest, most apathetic little boy you’d ever see.
As Blythe grew older Flora wasn’t able to over power him anymore and the beatings stopped. She’d hit him now and again, but it didn’t hurt as much anymore, and he was finally physically strong enough to protect Elliana from his aunt.
Blythe grew into a young man and worked a part time job at a grocery store owned by his father. He hated his job there, but it was kind of family tradition to work there for a first part time job, especially since he was going to inherit part of the company when he was older. He wasn’t particularly interested in this, and later put most of his time and energy into studying when he began to attend law school. He wanted to be as far away as possible from his father anyways.
The problem was he didn’t get to see Elliana as much. On the night just before the outbreak, he came home to visit his little sister only to find out his uncle had been taking advantage of her while he was gone. Needless to say, Blythe went absolutely out of his mind with rage. He murdered his uncle, stabbing him to death with a kitchen knife. He might’ve been arrested and sent to jail for years of his life, but then came the end of the world. Blythe’s father never came home so he never figured out what became of him. Flora fell to the flesh eating creatures, which he wasn’t the least bit sad about. So that left him and Elliana to fend for themselves in the terrifying new world.
The two of them gravitated toward a certain group where they stayed a few months. Blythe learned how to use fire arms and a number of other survival skills from the others in the group, and Elliana learned how to tend for the wounded and cook food. Things were fine at first, but Blythe began to feel dissatisfied with the leadership and subtly tried to work his way up to a position of power. He gained quite a bit of control, but the former leader saw him as a threat and told him to either step down or leave the group. Blythe took his sister and left. Instead of leaving them be, his group’s leader and some of his men hunted them down, not wanting to lose control of anyone from their group. Blythe did his best to fight them off, but they took his sister away and left him injured.
Of course he went back for her and managed convince some of his old comrades to let him into the camp. A good deal of them turned against their leader and aided Blythe is rescuing his sister. Furious at the betrayal, the leader executed Elliana to spite him. Chaos broke out. Those loyal to Blythe and those loyal to their old leader fought eventually destroying the camp. The creatures got in, people killed each other, and Blythe got ever so close to ending the man who took his sister’s life. Unfortunately the man escaped and Blythe was unable to track him. From there, Blythe left destroyed camp and traveled on alone and injured.

After leaving the medical wing and grabbing some food at the canteen, Eden headed for the dormitories. Her sister wasn’t at her usual spot in the mess hall, so she figured then was as good a time as ever to check up on her.
A couple knocks on the door and several minutes of waiting later, Eden came to the conclusion her sister wasn't in her room. She could be working or playing with Clover, but a wave of nausea still washed over Eden. Maybe she worried about her too much?
Next she headed down the hall and knocked on Clover’s door, receiving an answer almost immediately.
“Eden!” Clover grinned and threw herself into her arms. Eden nearly pitched backwards, but managed to regain her balance.
“Where’s Valentine?” Eden asked. Clover stepped back and raised her eye brows.
“Valentine… ah, I dunno. But I can track her for you, I have the tech. My dad’s thinking of restricting it soon though, so you’re in luck.”
She fiddled with a pendant shaped like a rocket ship that hanged around her neck as she talked, and looked at Eden hopefully. The look in her eyes reminded her of a puppy trying to please its person. Eden nodded and stepped into the room.
“Yeah, let’s go with that. Why’s he restricting you, though?”
Clover didn’t answer and just shut the door behind them, leading her through her disaster of a bedroom toward her computer desk. As they walked, Eden noticed black metal plating under her bare arms. Her thoughts drift back to her first day out on the streets of Tenebris when she blasted the Blood Queen with a ray of energy from her hand… she thought about the possibility it could be some kind of supernatural power, but then again, she weighed way more than anyone her size should. Eden knew, she got belly flopped on by Clover. Man, did that hurt.
Clover sat down at her desk and Eden leaned on the back of the chair as she swept through different programs.
“What did he do to you?” The words came out of Eden almost like an exhaled breath—It had taken a few moments to build up the guts to say them.
“Huh? You mean my favorite singer?” Clover said without looking away from the computer, “Well he ripped out my heart and stomped on it by existing with his cute face and awesome music—”
“I mean Cordell.”
Another moment of silence passed, with clicks and the occasional taps of a keyboard being the only sounds in the air.
“Took you long enough to notice.”
